The Northern Vintage Transport Association or ‘NVTA’ was formed in 1977 and on payment of the annual membership fee is open to anyone interested in Vintage transport, machinery, like items of special interest and collections. On payment of annual subscriptions members will also be issued with Public Liability Insurance cover which gives members the necessary cover when attending rallies/meetings etc. that the NVTA committee approve.

An annual General Meeting, held in January will determine the future rules of conduct of the club and approve the election /appointment of officers and a committee.

The subscription are to be set each year at the AGM in January and due in full payment February each year.

This means man or woman or man and wife or a couple who live together, and any of their children who live with them under the same roof and under the age of 17. If anyone who lives in the same house, but is 17 and over would like to be a member, they have to pay the full subscription.

A wide range of activities is arranged including static shows, runs locally and further a field ,social events and linking with similar clubs

A newsletter is published each month in which regular accounts of club activities appear.

The NVTA is autonomous and is not affiliated to any other body

The club exists to further member’s interest in and enjoyment of Vintage Transport in particular and associated items /activities generally.

Each month on the third Tuesday the club meets at 7.45 pm in Middleton St George Cricket Club following a meeting of the Committee at 7.00pm ( which any member may attend)

Any member may nominate (volunteer) himself to serve as committee member/ and /or officer.

Each Member has one vote if an election is needed

The Honorary President as the sole Officer (non voting) shall remain in office for life until such times as he/she chooses to retire.

The Chairman chairs the committee meetings and along with other officers

The Membership Secretary receives the annual subscriptions; issues membership cards/receipts and along with the treasurer accounts for the monies received.

The Secretary issues agendas, records the business of the committee including minutes of meetings, reports to club meetings and deals with correspondence with outside bodies

The Treasurer shall keep proper accounts showing all sums received and payments made on behalf of the Club which shall be open to inspection by any member. The Treasurer shall have authority to give receipts for monies paid to the club. Cheques drawn on the club’s account shall be signed by the committee and in accordance with the bank mandate. Two auditors may be elected, not club members by the current appointed committee at any time during any club year, if they feel there is the need for such an appointment. Possible reason, a discrepancy in the books. This will be a safer way to execute any audit.

The Newsletter Editor is responsible for the printing and posting of the 11 months club newsletter no newsletter in August but the Newsletter Editor will send a reminder out in August about the August Club Night Activities

Officers and members cooperate to efficiently execute the business of the club .The emphasis is on teamwork and cooperation. Members are encouraged to participate. Any member may initiate an event and seek help from other members and the committee to bring it about.

The committee and volunteers plan the annual program of activities.

Up to 4 Junior Member 12 years or over to come onto the Committee but have no vote.

In the unlikely and unthinkable event of the NVTA ceasing to exist an Extra Ordinary Meeting will decide on how best to donate residual club monies to suitable charities, open to all members.
